Daniel ‘Danny’ Stuart Martindale - Died peacefully on Thursday 21st January at Silloth Nursing Home after his strong battle with cancer, aged 60 years.  Dearly loved father of Chris, Paul and Fiona, treasured son of Bill and the late Ena Martindale, cherished brother of Rob, loving grandad of Zac and Cody, much loved father in-law to Zoe, dear Uncle and friend to many. Funeral service to be held at St Marys Church Hethersgill, on Saturday 6th February at 11am. COVID restrictions apply, therefore the funeral will be by invitation only. Those wishing to pay their final respects to Danny can do so along his final journey. 

The Hearse will be setting off from his home Dalegarth, turning right and then left at Kirklinton Church passing Ryehill Park in Smithfield and then left at the T-junction past Fir Ends School heading for Hethersgill. Video streaming of the service will be available for those unable to attend at https://youtu.be/BYYomhNGoaI We hope this will enable everyone to have a chance to pay their respects to Danny.

Danny’s family would like to support three charities that were a vital part of his care through his battle with cancer. DREAME fund (Newcastle Freeman Critical Care Unit) which played a role after his first surgery, Macmillan Cancer for their support throughout and Eden Valley Hospice in his latter months. Through some incredibly challenging years each of these charities were close to Danny and his family’s hearts.
